What cookies are

Our approach

We keep our use of cookies to a minimum. The Site is an informational website with no user accounts, no login and no web forms, so we have no need for cookies that identify or track you. In particular:

  • No tracking or advertising cookies: we do not set cookies for advertising, profiling or cross-site tracking.
  • Cookieless analytics: we use Plausible Analytics to understand overall use of the Site. Plausible is cookieless and does not store cookies on your device or collect data that identifies you individually. It produces aggregate statistics only.

Strictly necessary cookies

The Site is hosted and delivered through Cloudflare. In some cases a content-delivery or security provider such as Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary cookie to help protect the Site and its visitors, for example to detect malicious traffic. Any such cookie is used solely to deliver the Site securely and reliably, and is not used to track you across other websites. Strictly necessary cookies of this kind do not require consent under UK law.

How to control cookies

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you view the cookies stored on your device, block cookies from some or all websites, and delete cookies already set. The Help or Settings menu of your browser explains how. Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect how parts of a website function.

Because we do not use tracking cookies, you do not need to change any settings to prevent the Site from tracking you.
